MARCH 25, 2018 TOURNAMENT GAME # 3

Well, one of the 10 teams in the tournament has to finish in 10th place. This year it unfortunately was Labatt's turn
to land in the basement for the tournament getting swept over 3 games. Labatt at least gave it a good effort and did not suffer really big lop-sided scores as happened in other games to other teams. This game however was not exactly a close contest as Orange closed out the tournament and closed down Labatt. Final Orange Crush 7 - Labatt 2. It was a frustrating season and frustrating tournament for Labatt but still the object is to get a good workout and have some fun and on that basis it was another successful Sunday Night League season for Labatt.
Stars for Labatt: * Czachor ( 2 goals) / ** Lacoursiere ( 2 assists) / *** Murphy ( Defensive effort.)
See you all next season hopefully.

MARCH 24, 2018 TOURNAMENT GAME # 2
The DePere Ice Center the venue for this contest - Tournament Game # 2 in the Consolation Bracket.
Labatt got off to a strong start grabbing an early 3-0 lead but could not maintain the upper hand as the Rusty Blades came right back with 3 goals in a row and held off the Blues to get a come-from-behind 8 -4 win over Labatt. The best Labatt can hope for is to salvage a win on Sunday to avoid 10th place in the Tournament. Gordon was steady in net for Labatt but did not get the offensive help needed for a win.
STARS FOR LABATT: * Lacoursiere ( 2 goals) / ** Carlson ( 1 goal, 1 assist) / *** Price ( 1 assist.)
Hon. Mention: Prunty ( 1 assist.) Czachor ( no points but strong offensive effort.) Additional Labatt Scoring: Litzsinger (1 goal) ; Williams & Porod each with 1 assist.

MARCH 18, 2018 TOURNAMENT GAME # 1
If Labatt could erase the first 5 minutes of this contest the team might have come up with a win but the first 5 minutes still count and Labatt stumbled out of the gate giving up 4 quick goals to the Chiefs. The remainder of the game was well played and a close contest. The outcome might have been different had a referee been available...the teams had to play this Tournament game on the honor system as no referee could be found to work in this time slot.
Gordon in net for Labatt after a shaky start settled in and played well giving Labatt a chance at a come-back. The Labatt Aces Lacoursiere and Czachor provided the bulk of the offense for the Beermen. Labatt pulled Gordon for a 6th skater the final two minutes of the game and managed to score twice in the last couple minutes but came up short. Final Chiefs 9 Labatt 6. Labatt goes to the consolation bracket of the tournament.
Stars for Labatt: * Prunty ( 1 goal) / ** Lacoursiere ( Hat Trick 3 goals, 2 assists) / *** Czachor (1 goal, 3 assists.)
Additional Labatt Scoring: Carlson (1 goal); Williams & Porod, with 1 assist each.)

MARCH 11, 2018
The beer teams Coors vs. Labatt took to the ice to close out the 2017-18 regular season of the Sunday Night League.
Labatt was 3 skaters short of a full roster and had several reserve skaters, (7 on the bench.) The Silver Bullets were short and had just 1 or 2 on their bench. The Bullets were missing 2 or more of their Aces without Rentmeester & O'Brien to mention a couple. So with the advantage in reserve skaters Labatt figured the Bullets would get fatigued and slow down. For the first 3rd of the contest this looked like the deal as the game was close. Then the Bullets proved it did not matter as they did not miss on their scoring opportunities while Labatt was held in check by young Bullets goalie Tremblay. Final score was Silver Bullets 11 Labatt 7. Not exactly how Labatt hoped it would end to close the regular season schedule. Labatt was looking for momentum going into the Tournament but played hell again. Labatt will have to generate some positive vibes in the Tournament if they want to contend in the winner's bracket. Stars for Labatt: * Langlois-Skoloda ( Good all around effort and 1 assist on a great passing play on one of Price's goals) / **Porod ( Defensive effort , 1 assist) / *** Williams ( 2 assists.) Hon. Mention: Price (2 goals, 1 assist);Lacoursiere ( 2 goals, 1 assist) ; Czachor ( 1 goal, 2 assists);Prunty ( 1 goal, 2 assists.) Additional Labatt scoring: Mason ( 1 goal) ; Carlson & Murphy 1 assist each.
