People of good will the world over are concerned about, and working to save, the Polar Bears. When it comes to the Cornerstone Polar Bears hockey team I am sorry to have to report that the same good will does not apply. What with the on-going controversy surrounding this team many are wondering if it is only a matter of time before the league takes action. How many chances will they be given to reform and bring their organization up to league standards ? Many are speaking out saying that the league must place a limit on how much more of the the Bears abuse will be tolerated.
The buzz around the rink is that if some suspensions are not imposed soon it is highly probable that a managerial shake-up will be demanded of the organization, otherwise their participation in the Tournament is in question and their return to the ice for next season will be in doubt. Just consider that none of their players were asked to skate for the USA Olympic Team. I think that is about all that needs to be mentioned from here on out on this issue.
As far as this Sunday nights game goes Labatt gave it a good effort but their woes continue. Gordon in net for Labatt got shelled but despite the lop-sided score Gordon played well giving Labatt a chance to pull even approaching the mid-point of the game. Then the damned Bears went into overdrive and pulled away to a big lead. Final score Bears 11 Labatt 5.
Stars for Labatt: * Old man Litzsinger ( 1 goal, 3 assists) / ** Porod (1 goal) / *** D.Campbell (1 assist.)
Hon. Mention: Lacoursiere ( 2 goals, 2 assists) ; Czachor ( 1 goal, 1 assist.) Pasterski with 1 assist for Labatt.
The Bears defense would not have shot the puck into their own net if Porod & Campbell had not been aggressively fore-checking. So Labatt takes that positive note from this game.

Vandervest for Orange scored a nice goal on a strong rush to the net.
