Head coach Josh Brandwene of the Penn State Women's Ice Hockey Team has announced that 13 players will join the Nittany Lions for the 2012-13 season after signing a National Letter of Intent during the November early signing period. The inaugural class will join Penn State for its first-ever varsity season in 2012-13.
"We are very excited to welcome this inaugural recruiting class to Penn State and the Women's Hockey program," Head Coach Brandwene said. "Less than six months ago, we set out to identify outstanding hockey players who demonstrate commitment to academic success and a team-first environment. This is a special group of enthusiastic student-athletes who will do a terrific job representing our program and establishing a positive culture for many years to come."
Penn State will join College Hockey America, along with Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Robert Morris and Syracuse, for the 2012-13 season and, in 2013-14, the Nittany Lions will open Pegula Ice Arena. The future home of Penn State Hockey, Pegula Ice Arena will be an approximate 200,000-square foot, 6,200-seat state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility located right on campus.
CHAOS players Rachel Marshall, Marnie Colborne, Mallory McGraw, Shae Labbe, Ashley Barr and Carolyn Boykiw represented the team at the Hockey Alberta U-18 Selection Camp this past weekend in Spruce Grove, AB.

Emily is in Grade 12 and attends Bishop O'Byrne High School. Nursing seems to have always been Emily's interest and as hoped, she has been accepted into the Bacheleor of Nursing Program at Mount Royal University for the upcoming Fall Term.
After spending her 1st Midget year as captain of the Midget A Dinos and as a CHAOS affiliate, Emily was was drafted by the team and has spent the last 2 seasons with us. A bit of a quiet leader, she is an ominous prescence on the ice with her size and great speed and is respected by both her teammates and opponents. She always brought a strong work ethic to the team and lining up against her in 1v1 drills was never fun. Like her two graduate team mates, Emily was selected to Team Calgary in 2009 for the Team Alberta Challenge, a U-16 Provincial Tournament sponsored by Hockey Alberta.
The CHAOS will miss her strong defensive play and physical prescence.
"Best of luck, Em..."

She also participated in the 2010 and 2011 Team Alberta U-18 Selection Camps. ln 2010 and 2011, she played with the Spring Select team Rocky Mountain Storm and participated in the NAHA Labor Day Tournament in Burlington, Vermont.
A speedy forward, the CHAOS will miss Danica's quickness and skill up front.
"We'll miss you, Dani..."

CHAOS graduate Nikki Hendrey will wear the Red & White next season with the SAIT Trojans and play her first college year in the ACAC. Nikki is in Grade 12 and attends Bishop McNally High School. In 2009 Nikki was drafted to the Calgary Midget AAA Chaos and spent all 3 seasons with the team. Nikki joined GHC in her Bantam year after playing three seasons with the Properties Sports Association. Nikki played with the GHC Bantam A Rockies her first year helping them win Esso Minor Hockey Week. Her second season also with the Rockies, she led the team to winning the Division, Esso Minor Hockey Week and the City Championship. Nikki was selected to the Calgary team that participated in the Team Alberta Challenge, a provincial tournament sponsored by Hockey Alberta.
