Félicitations à nos Panthères d'Embrun qui ont gagnés le tournoi de Napanee de facon décisive avec 5 victoires consécutives!
Go Panthères Go!

Instead of doing a bottle drive during the winter, it’s a better and easier option to go with the Fundscrip program which is similar to last year Grocery Card program. The main difference is that Fundscrip offers over 50 different type of Gift cards in categories such as:
- Groceries (Loblaws, Independent Grocer, M&M Meat shops, , NoFrills, Metro, etc.)
- Gaz Cards (Petro-Canada, Esso, Ultramar)
- Restaurants (Subway, The Keg, Starbucks, Pizza Pizza, etc.)
- Retailers (Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger, Rona, Chapters, Golf Town, Cineplex Odeon, Future Shop, Gap, Home Depot, Toys’R’Us, Sportchek, etc.)
By purchasing gift certificates through our group before you shop and then spending them just as you would cash, our team will earn cash rebates on all your purchases. The retailers who participate in the FundScrip program donate a percentage of what our parents and supporters spend in their stores to our group. A percentage (from 2% to 10%) from the purchase of any of these gift cards goes directly to the team. This way we can easily raise money for the team at no cost and little effort to the parents.
Our goal is to raise $700 by the end of February for our team. As a reference, our peewee minor team made close to $900 last year on grocery cards alone. Everyone needs to buy groceries & gas and with the Holiday season approaching quickly, these cards make a great and easy gift for anyone on your list!
We encourage every supporters to invite their family members, friends, co-workers and neighbours to participate in FundScrip as well. After all, they buy groceries and gas, just like you do. You could give them an order form and they can order at the same time.
Our next order date is November 29. Please bring me your order forms and cheque BEFORE November 27.

Lets go Panthères!

Here is an update on a few items for Peewee PGL:
1. Hockey socks: Reebok “Home” hockey socks were provided to most of the players last evening (I was short a few pairs in the Youth size). The coaching staff has decided to go with only the Reebok “Home socks” for all the games as they are very similar to the away socks. I was short a few pairs of the Reebok ‘Youth’ size and I will get extra ones but they will only be available next week. Therefore we will ask the players to wear the regular away socks for the game this week-end. The cost for the Reebok socks is $22 including taxes.
2. Tournois - Nous avons maintenant les 3 tournois suivants de confirmés:
a. Cornwall : 4 au 6 novembre 2011
b. Napanee : 25 au 27 novembre 2011
c. Brockville : 20 au 22 janvier 2012
3. Hotel reservation for the Napanee tournament: As a clarification, the hotel reservation at Motel 6 is for 2 nights, from Friday, November 25th to Sunday, November 27th.
Here is an update on the Peewee PGL team:
1. Peewee PGL Hockey Pool: I have distributed the Hockey Pool forms to the majority of the parents. If you have not receive copies, let me know. As discussed at our meeting, we ask that each player sells a minimum of 5 hockey pools and the forms and payment have to be returned by October 14 to Marc Giroux or myself. You can also enter your hockey pool picks directly at http://hockeydraft.ca/ using Username: peeweepgl and password: peeweepgl.
2. Tournaments: We tried to register for the Belleville tournament in the Major Peewee AE division, but due to the lack of registration in that category, they have decided to cancel this division. Therefore on the same week-end (Nov 2 – 4), we have registered our team in the Cornwall Major Peewee B division. This tournament is now confirmed and is posted on our team website. Additional details including date and time for our games to follow. We are actively looking for an alternative “Away” tournament.
3. Hockey socks: All the players now have a pair of regular AWAY hockey socks. I have received confirmation from Russell Pro Hockey shop that they have received regular HOME hockey socks, but I am still waiting on the delivery date for the Reebok socks. Please reply to this email and select from the following list of hockey socks you would like to order for your son:
a. Reebok Home Socks: Yes or No
b. Reebok Away Socks: Yes or No
c. Regular Home Socks: Yes or No
4. Team 3-in-1 jackets: I received a quote for the same 3-in-1 jackets that we have for the ice dogs. The cost is $110 including logo on the jacket and fleece (same price for kids or adult size). Extra $6 for name on the sleeve. Please confirm with me if you would like to order a jacket. Last season, we ordered as many jackets for the parents as we did for the players! :o) For those with Ice Dogs jackets, I will ask for a price to add the Panthères d’Embrun logo on the existing jacket and get back to you.
5. Cheques: At the meeting we had asked for a parent contribution cheque of $200. As additional expenses are adding up for installation of name tags, name tags, socks, etc., I have decided to combine all the expenses and I will ask you in a week or so for one cheque to cover the parents contribution and other items. I will follow-up with you on this subject in another email. The team bank account is now open and Lucie Charbonneau is the co-signer on the account. Cheques for the team should be made out to EMBRUN PEEWEE PGL.
6. Team stats: Our website is now updated with all the players name, number and stats. The stats are available under http://www.hockeyclubhouse.com/embrunpeeweepgl/stats.php
