The 2000 Sask. Grrrowl U12 team finalized their roster on Feb. 21st for 2012 season. There were a few changes to the line up. The addition of Erin Armstrong and Madison Milo look to be strong additions on the blue line, Rebecca Sweeney adds some versatility on the front and backend and Sarah Mcnamara looks to be a solid last line of defense in goal for the Grrrowl this spring.
"The 13 veterans are going to be looked to for leadership this year. They have the experience and with us playing in an older age group we are going to rely on them", says coach Merk.
Coach Barron is excited to get the season going adn had this to say, "We are stronger. We added some size and strength. AAA hockey is about putting the best team on the ice and we did that".
The addition of Sarah Mcnamara looks to be a good move for the Grrrowl. "She has the right attitude. In camp she took what I had to say and executed. Looking forward to working with her this spring!", says coach Scott.
Defensive Coach Kelly, "I like the blue line. We need to fine tune a little as does every team, but we have the right mindset with these girls. Pitter Patter Let's Get ater!"
"It was tough making the changes that we did. The players were great kids and came from great families. We will miss them, but the show must go on."
The 2000 Sask. Grrrowl U12 team hits the ice on Good Friday with their first practice. Good luck in your 2012 season!
