Good Morning sports fans. The Hitmen won a hard fought battle last night against the Stickmen with a close 4-3 victory. The Hitmen were down a goal throughout the entire game, but were able to tie it up and get the go ahead late in the second period. The team skated well and did a great job of passing the puck. Forwards did a great job of pressuring the Stickmen in their own zone as well as the neutral zone. Our defense did a great job of clearing players and pucks from the front of the net. Brett stood on his head again. Great job out there Hitmen!
The Hitmen are off to the races. We have now had 2 exhibition games and one practice. Thanks to Craig for running the practice. I love getting bag skated. Overall, our skating looks great. We will be focusing on regrouping, positioning (F1,F2,F3), and breaking out of our zone. Let's focus on THINKING while playing. Be aware of where you are on the ice. Find the open ice to keep yourself open and in play. Let's keep our heads up, talk to eachother, and make some crisp passes. Games coming up this Friday, August 12th, and the following Monday, August 15th. Notifications to be sent out today. Thanks everyone!!
Just a quick update for the Hitmen. We have ice time available to us throughout the month of August. We are currently scheduling some practices and exhibition games and you will be notified via Hockey Clubhouse. Please let us know whether you can make these icetimes so we have time to locate spares. Thanks. I look forward to meeting you all, playing some good hockey, and drnking some beers. Have a great summer.
A big welcome to the newest members of the Nanaimo Casual Hockey League. The Gentlemen's Club and more importantly the Harbour City Hitmen. When asked what he thought of the upcoming season Hitmen Winger Neil"Killer Ninja" Gaudet quoted,"It's gonna be a great year! I can't wait to get out on the ice and fall down a few times. But seriously, I think we will make a strong presence in the league this year and we just really want to have some fun." There you have it folks. Bring on the Hitmen!
