The minor novice team started this season with a tournament win, and ended this season with a tournament win. The minor novice team returned from Orillia on Sunday with1st place medals in hand. They had a convincing win in all the games up to and including the final game over Simcoe. It was a very enjoyable weekend with some very well made plays to watch. Excellent job team!
The playoffs ended on March 11th with the Oakridge Aeros playing against the strong West London team. The Aeros fought hard and ended in a 4-3 win over West, earning a second place overall standing in the MD West Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario.
The Aeros have shown obvious development since the beginning of the season, especially with the win earlier in the playoffs over the undefeated London Bandits. This was a huge accomplishment and set the Aeros apart as the only MD West team to be able to beat the Bandits. Way to go Aeros!!
Keep up the hard work in both practice and at game time as we enter the playdowns next week.

Another great tournament for the Oakridge Minor Novice team at the 2010 St.Thomas Classic. The team started with a tough win over the eventual B winners, Dorchester Dragons, 5-4. They then beat Erin Hillsburg 5-3 and Caledon Hawks 13-0 to make it to the A semi-finals on Sunday against the strong Pickering Panthers. The Areos played a great defensive game and won 4-2 to advance to the tournament championship game against Clarrington Thunder. It was a great game for the Aeros, and every effort was made to clinch the championship. In the end the Aeros finished in second place with a final score of 5-3. Congratulations Oakridge on a fine turnout!
The playoffs started with the Aeros playing West London. A team they have not been able to beat this year...until tonight.
After going down 2-4 with seven minutes left in the third period the team did not give in. Through hard work and determination the Aeros had three unanswered goals to go up 5-4 with two minutes left in the game. The team played hard for the last few minutes to hold on and start the playoffs with a big victory.
The Aeros will need to continue the strong play as they again play West Wednesday. Keep up the hard work Aeros.

Congratulations Oakridge Minor Novice! All the hard work pays off. Great job Aeros.
