It's a tired cliché, but the real season has begun. The Lightning ended up in the basement in the regular season, but playoff hockey holds out new hope.

Body Checking to be removed from all house league play

The Nepean Minor Hockey Association board of directors has made the decision to remove Body Checking from all levels of house league hockey within the NMHA for the upcoming season, 2012-2013. With more and more associations moving to the non-body checking structure in House League the NMHA says that in the best interest of players each level will be non-body checking next year.
