Evaluation Set for March 24 in Caronport

The 1997 Prairie Ice Team will hold their evaluation/try-out skate on March 24 in Caronport, SK. The team will skate twice that morning: 8:00 am and 10:30. Cost for the skate will be $17.00/player to cover the costs of the ice. Cheques can be made out to South Sask Prairie Ice. For more information, please contact Marc or Herb.
Feb 20 Skate Cancelled

To be consistent with the spirit of the SHA's Decemeber memo (see previous news) the SS Prairie Ice Major Team (97s) will be canceling the skate on Monday Feb 20, 2012 in Caronport. We will be rescheduling this event to another date after the season has been completed. We appreciate your understanding. Have a wonderful Family Day weekend.
Update to 2012 Spring Season

The Prairie Ice will be running two U-14 teams this year. The U-14 Major (97 born) group will practice out of Caronport again this year (tentatively Saturdays beginning in April). The U-14 Minor (98 born) group will practice out of Regina and Caronport. Details with regard to practice ice scheduling are being finalized.
Those interested in playing for the U-14 Major team should contact either Herb Breitkreuz (h.l.kreuz@sasktel.net) or Marc Pele (mnpele@sasktel.net) directly.
Those interested in playing for the U-14 Minor team should contact Jim Jasper (jasper@accesscomm.ca) directly.
At the present time each team is planning on playing in 3-4 tournaments and finishing the season in Winnipeg at the Subway Tournament (early June).
The U-14 Major team is tentatively looking at running an open tryout on Feb 20, 2012, during the day, at Caronport. Fee will be set to cover costs (likely in the $15 - $20 range (depending on numbers). Given the memo the SHA sent in December regarding Spring Hockey and tampering, we are confirming whether we can hold this event or not. What is certain, that if the tryout were to be held, players may not skip an event with their current club (i.e., practice, game, etc.) to participate in the Prairie Ice tryout.
