Hey boys, the site doesnt allow me to show last season stats with the tournament roster active so you may have to look around on the site to see how you did.

Team Shocker leaves Friday for its 1st Phoenix tournament as a team. I will try to update the site from the hotel.

Shocker Wins Final Regular Season Win to Secure 1st place Overall

Posted by: Dusty D.Widner on Thu May 07th 2009 7:00pm

Team Shocker ended the regular season with a late rally against the Red Wings Tuesday night. That win secured them in 1st place going into the playoffs where they will get the bye game for the 1st round. After starting the game with only 5 skaters, Pauley let in an easy goal less then 2 minutes into the 1st period but came up with some nice saves throughout the rest of the game stopping 41 of 45 shots. The biggest goal of the game came from big Pat late in the 3rd period to tie the game at 4. However the goal of the game was put away by Big Joey P after the goalie went down early on a fake shot. Somehow Joe was able to get a hard angle shot in the net with only 34 seconds left in the 3rd to secure a win for the Shockers. #77 Dave Chorak started the late rally that led to the Shocker victory.

Downed by the Blackhawks

Posted by: Dusty D.Widner on Thu Apr 23rd 2009 2:35pm

The Blackhawks came with a whole new squad this week against the Shockers. The rink site shows only 4 of the 12 players on the Blackhawks bench were actually on the roster. None the less, the Shockers played strong despite the fact that 5 skaters were out of action Tuesday night. Nice to see long lost Shocker Pat McDevitt in action as he tried to fill in for the missing crew. Big Pat S. came with his A game putting away the first 2 goals in the same shift early on in the 1st period. But referees Ralph "420" Sena and Roger "You will Respect Me" McGinnis pulled the normal ish by calling a total of 6 penalties against the Shockers and only 2 against the Blackhawks. Goalie Paul Casey had one of his best games of the season stopping 25 of 32 shots including some blasts from just outside the crease. Corbett tried to keep his wifes "Pea Soup" from launching out of his mouth onto the ice but ended up with a pair of goals also. As the season winds down to the final two games, Shockers need at least 1 win to stay on top of the SPC Flames for the top spot in the playoffs.

Shocker Finishes Off The Labatt's

Posted by: Dusty D.Widner on Wed Apr 08th 2009 6:07pm

Team Shocker played well to end their 2 game losing streak on Sunday night against the advanced division Labatt. The penalties were plentiful again with Shockers taking 10 penalties for 37 minutes. The only good news about that is that Labatt took 12 penalties for 57 minutes and had 2 players ejected from the game in the process. Shockers now set the league record with 205 PIM for the season and stand as "those a$$hol#s" nobody likes to play. The relentless attack of Team Shocker was too much for Labatt’s goaltender who stopped 33 of 42 shots in the game. Shocker goaltender Paul Casey played well stopping 23 of 26 shots for a save percentage of .885 and improved to a 4.0 GGA for the season. Honorable mentions to Travis and Frank “The Tank” for each getting 2 goals and a helper in the game. Joe Petrella had 2 goals and 2 assists and Joey Maioriello had a goal and 2 assists also.
Shockers take on the 5-4 Blackhawks a week from Tuesday April 21st at 9:15pm. No game is scheduled for next week.

Shockers Lose 2 In A Row-With A Little Help

Posted by: Dusty D.Widner on Wed Apr 01st 2009 2:20pm

Job Opening- If you can put on ice skates, wear a striped jersey and blow a whistle with your ass, we have a job for you. 84 minutes in penalties were called in this 55 minute game including a 3 and 10 to Joey "The Mouth" Maiorello just 20 seconds into the game. Team Shocker played choppy and the stoppages were plentiful with bad call after bad call really setting the pace for the game. The scoresheet ran out of room in fact. Corbett Jones came up nicely with 2 goals and Mike Keck kept his point streak alive with 2 assists. Unfortunately these recent games have been decided by how may people can be put in the box for no real great reason. Both teams can be heard saying "if both teams are yelling that you suck, then you really suck". Paul Casey was nice enough to show up by the end of the 1st period to allow 5 goals on 30 shots but did have some great saves throughout the game. Travis W was held pointless but more impressively, kept off the penalty sheet also for the 1st time in over a year.
Shocker takes on the advanced division Labatt Blues this Sunday. Corbett will have to make a choice on whos side he is really on. Shockers hold onto 1st place still but the margin is narrowing.
