Hi Ladies,
Important: bring a dark and white jersey for each game - you will be assigned to a team and could be wearing either colour depending on the week.
We plan to mix up the teams to keep the games interesting (for skaters and goalies) and even.
Subs - you must bring both a dark and a light jersey - you will be the first players we re-assign when attempting to even out the teams.
Other Logistics:
We have recruited 20 players and have lined up 2 goalies for the season
Dressing rooms will be labeled Teasdale/Lafontaine on the board
No slap shots or faking slap shots
Full face masks and mouthguards are recommended but not mandatory
No Contact
As we don’t have referees, please refrain from “hacking” people’s sticks, holding, tripping etc.
After a goal is scored, the scoring team must retreat to behind the blue line to allow the defensive team to clear the zone.
After a shot is stopped (ie. the type of situation where there would be a whistle in favour of the goalie in a real game) the opposing team must retreat only to the top of the circle (the Ringette line) so that the puck can be brought back in play right away. Once the goalie has stopped the puck, please refrain from excessive "digging" at the goalie, remember, there is no one there to blow a whistle.
To ensure fairness of icetime, please use an “In” door and “Out” door on the bench if your team isn’t assigning positions.
Let’s remember that this is for fun, exercise and improve our hockey skills.
Let’s be considerate and careful out there, some of us are old and I don't want to get hurt again! LOL!
We reserve the right to ask you to leave the league without a refund (in the interest of safety and the spirit of the league) if you are not complying with the few rules set out above.
I am providing a sub list of players/goalies. If you are going to miss an icetime and wish to “sell” that spot to recuperate the fee, it is your responsibility to make those arrangements. You must advise Kim or Shari via email, so that we are aware that sub arrangements have been made for that game.
Goalies: please find a sub for any games you will be unable to attend and in the event you are unable to find a sub, please let us know ASAP so we can make some last ditch efforts to get someone in net. As I am sure you aware, it is hard to enjoy the game with "NO" goalie.
See you on the pond,
Thanks again,
