HCHC improved their record to 8-4-1-17, with a come from behind, 4-3 shoot-out victory, over long time rival, FBC. The Stripers fell behind 2-0 in the 1st, but Jeff took matters into his own hands, scoring a natural hat-trick, his 2nd, and the 'Fish's' 16 all-time. Jeff is now 3rd all-time in goals with 24, and has moved into 5th all-time with points at 39. Jason extended his scoring streak to 11, now tied with Pannu with the all-time club scoring streak, Ron added an assist to his all-time lead (38), and Matt added a helper, as the top three Striper assist kings found the score sheet. Our penalty kill was tight, and Eric was splendid again. The shoot-out was killer, as Eric stoned all three shooters, and after Jason and Tommy misfired, Khen took control and won it in dramatic fashion. What a game! We solidified our highest point total at 17 and counting, and will finish above .500 for the first time as club.
Let's deal the Black Aces another FISH KILL!
I was at Ice World this afternoon picking up my son from Ed Slusher's hockey camp and I spoke with Collin who helps Ed with the hockey camp. Collin said he will be the goalie for the Black Aces on Wednesday night. I asked Collin if he is pulling my leg and he said no! He even pointed out the goalie pads he was going to wear... they appeared to be yellow. But I am colored blind so I could be off on the exact color. Sound like Wednesday will be a interesting game.
HCHC Stripers were not up to the challenge of the first place Icemen (9-2-1-19), falling 4-2, in the battle for first place in the 'lower c'. The Stripers (7-4-1-15), scored first, behind Jason's 31st, and franchise setting, leading goal, but could not hold on. Jason extended his scoring streak to 10, Matt had a multi-assist game, his 10th multi-pt game, tieing him with Ron for 4th on the franchise list, and also tieing J.Bahr at 3rd on the all-time 'Fish' point list at 42. Kevin made a great play on a break-a-way that the ref's saw differently, and the follwoing penalty shot goal and quick strike that followed, burried HCHC. Penalties were scattered, but it was enough to keep us from mounting the comeback. We face them again in a few weeks. Let's remember these two defeats. Four more games in the regular season, one game against each division foe. Get pumped for the playoffs!!!!
HCHC improved their record to 7-3-1-15, staying one win behind the Icemen, behind Eric's franchise setting 13th victory, and Tom's hat trick, (3g 1a), the team's 14th of all-time.
The game was a blowout from the beginning..The Bombers really do miss those ringer's...but it still was a 'good' game.
Jason extended his point scoring streak to 9, recorded another multi-point game, and took the lead with the team's 5th game winner. Tom has scored 7 points in two games, Eric has won 12 of his last 15, and we had no penalties. Way to go! Matt scored his 19th and is now one behind Jeff H. at 5th on the all-time 'Fish' goal list. Jason's game winner was his 30th, tieing him with the great Pannu as all-time goal getter.

The 'lower c' leading Icemen did not come out victorious against the mighty Dragons of 'the upper c'. Both the Stripers and 'The Men of Ice' have battles on Tuesday evening, at the famed Ice World, situated in the rolling hills of Abingdon, MD. The Icemen (7-2-1-15) and HCHC (6-3-1-13) are set to do battle the following Sunday.
