Have finally been updated guys - sorry for the delay!
Standings to be updated shortly, in the meantime the ladder is still available at Point Streak
Holding the lead until the 9 minute mark of the 3rd period the Falcons managed to steal the game from bottom placed blackhawks2 with another special ordered pamigana pretzel. Steven scored with only 4 mins left the GWG and set the Falcons up with some much needed confidence coming to this sunday where they will face the Tigers2 who are at the moment top of the table.
The Falcons lead the penalties already this year and it has hindered their goal scoring abilities aswel. Going down to the broken wings was their second loss in a row and hopefully they can win this week against the blackhawks2 to get a boost in morale and on the ladder before their first meetings with each tigers teams who have looked very powerful during the first 3-4 games.
Contratulations to Wisey are in order, 1 goal in his first game of the season and it was a pearler!
We had a tough game on Sunday night against a fast flowing Redwings. They have a lot of young players who can move the puck very well and have good speed to back it up.
We gave them a 2 goal head start but came back to level pegging with some determined skating.
Well done to James David on his first goal for the club, he shows a lot of composure when carrying the puck, and will be a great asset to this club.
The other goals came from our regulars in Parmie (it was a nice half twist double pike flambé spinorama move), Spillsie with a great slap shot from the blue line, and Ogie who ground out a good goal from the corner and finished with a wrap-around.
As has been said on many occasions, penalties can make or break a game; we had opportunities to tie the game and take it into overtime, and give ourselves a chance to win.
It’s only been 2 games but I believe we have the making of a good solid unit; we need to remain under control when the game gets tight, and learn how to win those games with our mental toughness.
The harder you work, the luckier you get.
Cheers
Ric Dent
Still at work and wont be on the ice until April11th game but follow the updates....looks like a close one and no doubt Ric is alluding to silly penalties which have plagued us in the past.
I am encouraged by what I see for stats and cannot wait to get out and contribute myself. Keep up the good work boys, see you soon.
