Zombie Party debuts at HB Inline with a loss.

With another seasons comes changes. This we say goodbye to Scott(going to NorCal for college), Manny and Thomas and we welcome back Ruben! The biggest change of all was moving from the 949 to this new rink here in HB!
At the start of the game, Albert would be out due to illness. So that meant everyone needed to step up. ZP had a nice big crowd out in the stands to welcome them to their new rink. Also that night, Kevin and Mike were celebrating their 22nd and 21st respectively. Happy Birthdays!
All in all, it was a very sloppy game by both teams. Zombie Party did their best as they were trying to get used to the smaller rink size and more important, rink surface. However Zombie Party came up short by 3 goals ended their night with a 7-10 loss. Not to worry from what was heard, Zombie Party faced one of the better teams in the League and to be able to lose by 3 on a new rink size and surface to them isn't that bad!
We want to thank everyone who made it out to the game and thank you for your on going support! We'll get back to our winning ways pretty soon as we get more familiar with the rink!
Next game : Wed. 01/12/11 @ 10:25p vs Hard Dump.
2nd Place in Ironman Tourney
Posted by: Yen Le on Fri Dec 31st 2010 6:19pm
This past Wednesday (12/28), 4 Zombie Party members, Kevin, Yen, Andrew, and Paul participated in the HB Inline Ironman Tournament.
Unlike the regular season game, each game lasted 10 minutes, no faceoffs and penalty shots are taking instead of served penalties. Each team played a 5 game round robin then went into the playoffs
Along with with Zach (current Captain of the Saxons Hockey Club) and Spencer (member of the Ninjas) your Zombie Party finished the round robin with an impressive 5-0-0 record out scoring their opponents 17-4 (6-1, 3-0, 3-1, 3-1, 2-1)!
Zombie Party finished first and received a bye straight into the championships. In the final game, Spencer was injured when he was cut up under his chin, he had to get stitches. Paul just so happened to be there so he was called in to replace Spencer.
Unfortunately, with the automatic advance to the Championships came a long 1 hour break. With that break, the streaking Zombie Party went cold. They ended up losing in the Championships match by a score of 2-3 in Overtime! They were literally one goal away from winning.
For coming in 2nd, Zombie Party received a nice Orange Towel!
However, it was a fun first tournament for the Zombie Party participants, and look for Zombie Party to play in future tournaments!
Zombie Party Heading to Huntington Beach!
Posted by: Yen Le on Tue Dec 21st 2010 1:27pm
With the the Fall season over and the Winter season approaching, Zombie Party thought it would be nice to have a little change in scenery, so they'll be moving from 949 in Irvine to The Rinks in Huntington Beach!
Since Zombie Party's formation and time at the 949 they have compiled a nice 16-12-2 record and scored 185 goals to their opponents 146 giving them a +/- of +39!
In ZP's first season was a tough learning experience as they went 2-7-1 and missed the playoffs by just 1 point.
In their 2nd season, they were determined to make the playoffs more than ever! With a New Look and New scoring powers, ZP started the season with a 9 game winning streak and ended the season with their first Championship!
Then last season, moving to a different night and up a division, the young ZP team despite being shorthanded for most games were able to keep up with the rest of the division and finish 3rd place in the regular season with a 5-4-1 record. They were eliminated in 1st round of the playoffs against a team that gave them trouble all season long.
And now ZP will be moving to Huntington Beach for a new challenge!
The-Rinks, Huntington Beach (www.hbinline.com) is one of 4 Anaheim Ducks owned SoCal Hockey Rinks. Formerly known as Coast-2-Coast, The-Rinks, Huntington Beach has a long tradition of competitive and fun hockey leagues for everyone of all ages. It is the home to AIHL's Champions Reebok Huntington Beach. They have hosted many prestiege tournaments and recently hosted the AAU High School and Club Nationals this past summer! They even just put in new tiles for their rinks!
The Season is set to start next year in January 2011, so from Zombie Party, Thank you for your long going support and we wish you a very happy and safe holidays and a merry new year!
Zombie Party Eliminated

In a hard fought effort against a red hot Irvine Coyotes, your Zombie Party came up just a little short in the Semi-Finals. Even with a full crowd of Zombie Party supportors, they got within 2 goals but in the 3rd, the Coyotoes took off on a scoring frenzy and eliminated Zombie Party 4-9.
Irvine Coyotes would go on to compete against Shamwow right after and defeated them for the Championship.
Thank you everyone for a great season, check back for more!
